Phoebe is a funny girl, we love her.

She has brought a lot of love and joy into our lives. 

She loves her cat and they are a team, poor Serafina will be lost without her Phoebe. Serafina could fit in the palm of your hand when she came to live with us and Phoebe could have crushed her but never did, and Phoebe let that kitten crawl into her crate with her...

Phoebe is a dancer. She does her "Phoebe dance" at dinner time and when her favorite people come over.

Phoebe is a lap dog, or so she thinks. if you let her, she will curl up on your lap for love and attention and fall all over you.

She is an arm licker, she will lick your arm endlessly if you let her.

When she is out in the yard and you open the back door to call her, she looks up, pauses, and then sprints her way to you and you can see how happy she is that you are looking for her.

Phoebe can talk....for a treat, she will talk plenty! Some people call it howling, but she is talking, make no mistake. 

She loves her Justin. In the morning, when Justin gets up early and is watching some TV, I hear him talking to her...and giving her her morning scratch. She walks over to him and sits next to him and takes his love.

She loves to go for a walk or a ride like most dogs. 

She is afraid of seagulls and also of washed up on the shore buoys, she barks at those buoys and circles them and warns them to stay away and then as she trots away, she peaks back several times to make sure they are not sneaking up on her. No buoy will ever get the drop on Phoebe.

Phoebe has delicate hearing, loud noises make her leave the room. 

Phoebe believes rain is acid only to be braved quickly for the fastest potty break ever and she can show you which tree branches provide the most cover from the rain until mommy opens the door.

Phoebe does not love cameras, taking pictures makes her droop her ears, but she puts up with it for the sake of the Christmas card photo.

Phoebe loves when her grandma comes to visit and knows this is the crucial time to be in the kitchen after dinner.

Phoebe has many names...Phoebes, Phoebopolis, Phoebopolis Rex, Phoebeswe, Misses Poo Poo or just Misses, Phoebe pants, Princess Pea...she indulges us and answers to all of them.

Phoebe knows who she likes and who she don't like and she doesn't stay quiet about it. If Phoebe doesn't like you, even a treat doesn't change her mind. Once you are on her "don't like" list, it is very rare to get off. And even if you think you got off, she may revoke that the next time she sees you....or 10 minutes later, whichever comes first.

The people Phoebe loves she dances for and she will dance for them every time they come over or say hi to her.  If you are really special and it strikes her, she will even show you one of her "babies"...some have stuffing, some do not, but all are equally good gifts in her mind. She likes to play chase with them in the loop through the living room and hall...and prances so proud when she gets whatever it is before you do. 

She nibbles on her toys in the funniest way....I think she gets that from her mamma Lucy...

Phoebe had one boyfriend Stoli and she loved him. He made her brave. If he liked someone she would give them a chance and allow them to pet her, even if they were on her "don't like or don't know" lists.

Phoebe is friendly, but, that doesn't mean she will let just any dog in her front yard.

Phoebe does not like crowds. Parties with lots of people in the yard are not her favorite and she would rather just go inside and curl up until it is over and all the strangers are gone.

Phoebe likes a good fire. She will curl up in front of the fireplace until her fur is so warm you think she will catch fire herself!

Phoebe likes to hover around the grill and check for any good drips of meat juice once she thinks mommy is not looking.

Phoebe is a poker. She will poke you with her nose at different times. Sometimes when she is skipping out with you as you carry her bowl of food she will dance and poke you along the way. Sometimes when some of her favorite people come over and are too busy talking to other people she will poke to remind them that she is there for petting by the way.

Phoebe, like many dogs, loves to curl up on the couch and will move almost anything out of the way to do so, she can squeeze past almost anything to wedge herself between the couch and the cushions.

Phoebe is a funny girl.

Pheobe passed on to Rainbow Bridge Nov. 10, 2009 after a short fight with Lymphoma.
